Homegrown hops

A friend at work started some hop plants growing last season, so I should have my first harvest next Fall. So far I have Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, and Willamette growing. I think I'm going to order some Zeus rhizomes to add to the crop. Anyone else growing their own? Results?

Hops

Hello all,

This is my first post on the boards. I've been brewing a little while, and am starting my hop garden this year. I hope to do my first all grain batch this weekend. I would be interested in trading some hops here and there depending on my yields. I don't expect a whole lot this first year.

The species I have are Cascade, Nugget, Willamette, and Horizon. My Willamette has poked through the ground so far.

I'm currently trying to build a trellis that will work with the area I have...

www.freshops.com up in Philomath, Oregon. Good selection and you can buy HUGE rhizomes depending on the season.

Online Brew shops

I haven't yet done this, but my plan is to order a few rhizomes from Northern Brewer online this spring. Northern Brewer, More Beer, Williams Brewing, and a few other online stores stock a large variety each spring.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have only 1 rhizome that looks pretty sickly and was unlabeled when I bought it. It will be nice to know what I have!
